ABOUT
Blanc hats are designed and produced in our studio at the historic centre of Athens, Greece, since 2014. Our production team works side by side with the few remaining in business female artisans carrying their craft to the future. All pieces combine local artisanal millinery techniques with experimental 3D design, to create thoughtful, upbeat and playful designs. This balance between visual intrigue and practical wearability is at the heart of creative director Konstantinia Vafeiadou vision.
Konstantinia Vafeiadou is the creative director of the brand. She completed her studies in fine arts in northern Greece and costume design in performance at London College of fashion. Her passion for craftsmanship and design inspired her to explore the boundaries between fashion and art in millinery techniques so as to create a harmonious symbiosis thereof.
Blanc responsibly sources fully premium and traceable raw materials. Our leather uses nontoxic, vegetable dyes. Raffia and wheat straw are sustainably harvested. Viscose is FSC certified. Silk is dead stock fabric. Our artisanal, end-to-end handmade process allows us to control wastage in production. we don’t mass produce. We keep and up cycle every single element.
The brand has been featured in leading fashion and lifestyle publications over the years including Vogue, The Sunday Times, Harper's Bazaar, Votre Beaute, Make Magazine and Cosmopolitan. Blanc hats are sold in over 40 stores in Greece and internationally.
